Residential

Heavy Stone

We emphasized the logic of the building's shape and architectonics by reconfiguring the volumes, creating canopies and façade screens. Load-bearing stone columns with their fundamental nature are reminiscent of a "fortresses-like" architecture and look impressive in contrast with lighter materials and the rhythmic and metric series of façade elements. The contrast of massive and light in the architecture of this residence is inspired by the landscape itself: the African cherry trees growing near the house are at the same time monumental, like stone columns, and changeable during the flowering period, like the glass elements of the facade reflecting the different states of nature.
