Monumental Gate

This competition project called for a monument that would serve as a landmark entry point to a mixed use development and an exclusive gated community. Our approach centered on an upward-sweeping gesture that would be both grandiose and invite visual movement upward. The fabric is brutalist in use of mass concrete yet feels light by incorporating off-white architectural concrete with a subtle matte finish.
